  • Shooting on 35mm film changes the way I take a photograph.I can’t take twenty versions of the same frame and choose the best one afterwards; there’s no screen to check, no instant reassurance. I have to watch what’s happening, anticipate the moment and decide when it’s worth pressing the shutter.I love that.It makes me slow down without slowing the day down. I notice the light, a glance across a table, the way someone is standing, the second before something happens; you become totally present in what you’re photographing.Then there’s the wait… sending the rolls away and seeing the scans for the first time still feels so exciting! Film has a softness, depth and honesty that’s very difficult to replicate.
