A Captivating November Wedding at Goldsborough Hall – Jen and Ash’s Unforgettable Day

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Jen and Ash’s simply gorgeous wedding at Goldsborough Hall in Yorkshire in November. Goldsborough Hall is such a picturesque setting and provided a beautiful backdrop for their wedding day; full of late Autumn dappled light and shadows.

Goldsborough Hall is a 16th-century historic house in North Yorkshire and is the former home of Princess Mary. The hotel offers five-star luxury accommodation, 3 AA rosette dining and the incredible gardens have won numerous awards! The Hall stands in beautifully landscaped grounds with unspoilt views over tranquil parkland, making it one of the most exclusive and beautiful places to stay in the UK. There are 16 bedrooms and suites at the Hall and 5 rooms at their sister property, The Bay Horse Inn.

Jen and Ash chose to host their wedding service in St Mary’s Church which adjoins Goldsborough Hall. The 13th-century St Mary’s, stands adjacent to the Hall’s grounds and even has its own private royal entrance in the south wall – it is absolutely perfect for combining a church wedding and then your reception at Goldsborough Hall.

Jen looked perfectly elegant in her exquisite Suzanne Neville wedding dress from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge as she made her way to St Mary’s Church in Goldsborough to exchange vows with Ash. The natural light during the day worked its magic, casting a flattering glow on the couple and adding an ethereal quality to the already captivating surroundings. As a photographer, I always strive to take advantage of such beautiful natural light, as it brings out the best in everyone and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that translates beautifully into photographs.

Goldsborough Hall, with its rich history and breathtaking beauty, served as the perfect backdrop for Jen and Ash’s wedding reception. Originally built by Sir Richard Hutton in the 17th century, the hall boasts an illustrious past, having welcomed royalty, including HRH Princess Mary, who once called it home. The historic charm and elegance of the hall, coupled with its meticulously manicured gardens, make it a truly exceptional wedding venue in Yorkshire, offering couples a luxurious and romantic setting for their special day.

Winter weddings exude a really unique yet enchanting charm, turning the cold season into a backdrop for unparalleled beauty. Goldsborough Hall created a stylish yet cosy ambience, with flickering candles and warm hues, adding an intimate touch to Jen and Ash’s wedding celebration. Embracing the chill, Jen and Ash accompanied me out for a wander around the grounds go Goldsborough Hall so we could capture a set of relaxed and natural portraits; the crisp air adding an ethereal feel to the gardens, effortlessly weaving romance and warmth amidst the frosty landscape.

After a incredible dinner, the speeches took centre stage, weaving a heartfelt and humorous narrative that left everyone touched and entertained. It was a beautiful moment, filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt sentiments, encapsulating the depth of love and joy that filled the celebration.

Music played a pivotal role in setting the mood for the evening, and the Event Music Company did not disappoint, filling the dance floor with an irresistible energy that kept the celebration going well into the night.

Jen and Ash’s wedding was a true testament to the beauty of love and the magic of the season, and I feel privileged to have been part of their unforgettable day. Goldsborough Hall provided the perfect canvas for their love story to unfold, and I am eagerly looking forward to the next opportunity to capture the magic of love at this remarkable venue.
